Description

Here’s a rare one.  This faucet was made by Republic and dates to circa 1928.  The original finish was chrome, but the chrome was plated directly onto the brass.  This was only done for a few years when chrome first came out in the late 1920’s, and it had a tendency to chip off.  The plating process was soon changed to “triple chrome” and that’s what we’ve applied to this faucet.  The faucet itself is fully rebuilt and is ready to install.  We did have to make some new locknuts for it, and it’ll attach to sinks that have between 8″ centers and 12″ centers.  It originally had rigid lines between the valves and the spout, we’ve gone with short flex lines for simplicity.  Most of the drain is original, we did have to modify a Standard drain top to work with the Republic stopper as the original top was long gone.  The handle buttons are black enamel (that’s had some repair done) and have a great looking script to the H and C.  Supplied with a 1 1/4″ tailpiece.  One only, and it’s the only one we’ve ever seen that’s this over-the-top Art Deco.  Grab it quick, we’ll not see another like it.
