Here’s our problem; UPS uses a arcane system based on box size to determine shipping costs. One can take a 10 pound faucet (small box) and ship it ground to New York
from California for around $15. An “L” shaped curtain rod that weighs the same 10 pounds, because it requires an oversize box, will run around
$110.00. Expedited freight just made the problem worse.
We’ve finally come to the conclusion that we need to ship all of our oversize packages at “actual cost”. Basically, we’ll charge you, the customer, what UPS is charging us.
If you see a “Oversize” icon next to the product you are purchasing, we will contact you with a freight quote, either via e-mail or telephone. We will do
this before shipping your order and will not ship until we have received your okay. Or, send us an e-mail with your shipping details and we’ll be happy to give you a
quote on the projected shipping costs.
Do note, the freight charges reflected by our shopping cart will be incorrect. We will charge whatever we quote. All freight quotes will be good for 1 week.
